Kekkai Sensen

Also known as "Blood Blockade Battlefront", is an anime adaptation of a manga series of the same name from the studio Bones.
Now without any further explainations, lets get right to it.

PLOT

CONTEXT

About 3 years ago a giant gate opened up in the middle of what we call New York City through a phenomenon simply called the Great Collapse. Now this gate connected this world to the Alterworld.
The Alterworld being a dimension full of monsters.
Now I know that sounds a little clichèd but the best part is that after alot of fighting with the monsters, humans finally came to terms with them. Hence, we get Hellsalem's Lot, which is basically a city of monsters but humans can also visit if they like.

SETTING

One of the notable things about this plot is that the setting has taken place in New York or Hellsalen's Lot and not in Japan.

Unlike a couple of other anime the we all may know of....but if you don't know of any i'm pointing towards Code Gease (which is also a really good anime and I recomend that you check it out).

STORY

The story revolves around a boy named Leonardo Watch.

Yeah, I know that it sounds made up but that's what they went with.
This guy is a bit of a wuss and he has a sister complex, but I don't mean that in a bad way.
Apparently his sister gave up her sight so that he could upgrade his to the "All Seeing Eyes of the Gods".

LIBRA

Well this is an odd heading but it is in fact a part of the plot so here it is,

Libra is basically a society of superhumans to keep in check the thugs of the Alterworld.

Yes, they are a big deal!

CHARACTERS

Now this is the most important part of this anime or any anime of that matter.

The characters in this anime are so badass and each and everyone of them is crazy in their own way.

KLAUS VON REINHERZ

The leader of Libra.

Why, you may ask?

Well that's because this guy has superhuman strength and superhuman sense of morality.

ZAPP RENFRO

Now what exactly can I say about this guy?

Womanizer

Badass

Delinquent 

You get what I'm talking about right?

THE MACBETHS

These guys were one of the reasons why people actually liked this anime.

Especially due to

MARY MACBETH

This girl easily became the only reason for people to keep on watching the anime.

One of the loveliest characters in an anime who was forced to go after the eyes of her only friend by nine other than her own brother.

WILLIAM MACBETH

the courageous older brother who sacrifised his own body to the devil so that her sister could be spared.

THE ANTAGONIST

Call him whatever you may, I mean you already know his name, or as I like to call him "The Lord of Despair"

This guy might seam powerless but he sure as hell is scary.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

ALIGULAR

This girl took the tho people that she liked,

Liquified ones body while he was still alive,

Drained the other's body of all its blood,

And then put them both together as one.

Brilliant!!!

CHAIN SUMERAGI

I wish they gave her some more screen time.

All I know about her is that she had some kind of grudge against Zapp.

THAT DINNER GIRL

I can't seem to remember her name but she was a pretty nice character to keep around.

MUSIC

I must say music is actually one of the most important parts of an anime but not for this one.

It has been so well directed that half of the time your either laughing your ass off or your too engrossed in the story.

Still, the opening song : "Hello, world" and the ending song : "Sugar Song to Bitter Steps" never got old throughout the anime.

FEATURES

There were three things that were simply awesome in this anime:

VAMPIRES 

Also known as blood breeds. They only appeared twice in this anime but they sure know how to pack a punch.

They have the ability to keep you at the edge of your seat. They are the definition of badass.

COMEDY

I know that this anime is more commonly known for being an action or supernatural anime but it’s stand out point has to be its comedy.

The comedy in this anime is so light and refreshing that you could not help but laugh to it.

THE MACBETHS

I know that I have already mentioned them before but then again this anime would be nothing without them.

In this anime we explore the boundaries of the relationship between rwo siblings.

One who sacrificed himself so that the other could be spared and the other who became a slave to bring back the other.

Like I said, characters make every bit of a difference in an anime and these two characters are a story in themselves.

CONCLUSION

I fully enjoyed myself with this 12 episode long season wishing that it could be a little longer.

I recommend that you guys also check it out as well.
