Hello,
My name is Mark Winters and I'm about to share a very disturbing tale with you guys.
I was working overtime at the office that night.
There was hardly anything out of the ordinary, except that it was raining quite heavily outside.
I was quickly wrapping up my work and getting ready to leave, when I suddenly realized that I had forgotten my umbrella. I asked one of my co-workers if they had a spare.
Jannet was the only one other than me who was still at work. She lend me her own and said that she would find herself a spare from the old store at the back.
Tired from work, I was already in a hurry to get back to my sweet apartment and get a good night's rest, so I took her umbrella without a second thought and went into the rain.
It was pouring cats and dogs. I somehow managed to get a cab and made my way to my apartment.
The building in which I lived was located in a pretty bizarre place. It was far away from the city and there was nothing of any importance beyond it. If someone was coming down this path, then they either resided in this building or they were lost. There were only a handful of tenants, currently residing in the building. Most of the rooms were vacant. Moreover, these rooms were amazingly cheap.
The cab droped me off, I paid the driver and went into the building. No one was in the hall, probably because it was 2 A.M and everyone had already gone to bed. I intended to do the same. I went into the elevator and pressed the button for the third floor where I unlocked the door to my room.
Apartment No# 306.
I turned on the lights, threw away my clothes and went into the bathroom. After I came out I noticed that not all of my lamps were lit. Must be due to the bad weather. I paid it no further attention and got ready for bed.
I had just closed my eyes when it first came.
A crying knock at my door!
I jumped out of bed. With my partially open eyes, I looked around the room. Desperately trying to figure out what made that sound?
Then it came again!
And again!
I was now wide awake.
There was someone knocking at the door!
But who could it be?
And at this hour?
I rushed towards my door, and peeked through the hole to see whoever it was making that sound.
To my surprise I found a girl standing outside in the rain!
I had never met this girl in my life and, even though I wasn't much of a socialiser, I was a man in my mid-twenties and I'd have known if there were any girls living in my building, because otherwise, she had no reason to be here in the first place.
Thinking that she might be lost, I opened the door.
She rushed into my apartment and sat into a corner right beside my bedroom with her head between her knees.
This girl was drenched from head to toe and was shivering, but I couldn't see her face.
In a soft voice, I asked her:
I asked her again,
Was she looking for me?
I mean, it made sense.
Why Apartment No# 306?
Why my room?
If you were taking the elevator, my room was the eighth on the right. If she was lost and was looking for help she would have chosen some other room closer to the elevator, then why me? Why this room?
It was then that I asked her,
She had been crying.
She had been crying for a while now.
I got on my knees and begged her to answer me,
This silence was broken by her words:
Something had fallen from the sky.
Something along with the rain.
Something heavier.
Something far more fragile.
A body
A human being
A person who had been struggling under the heavy rain of society.
Had fallen
Fallen to their death.
I rushed towards the balcony, with her still in my peripheral vision behind me. As I looked down to see what had fallen from the sky.
She was now in front of me.
It was HER.
She had fallen.
She had killed herself.
As I looked behind me.
She was no more.
There was only the corner where she sat.
The corner where she cried.

She had been crying.
She had been crying for a while now.
I got on my knees and begged her to answer me,
What is the matter?
Tell me! What has happened to you?She remained quiet.
Why are you crying? There was a moment of silence. As if the rain outside had paused. The thunder had seized. The lightening, lost its spark.
This silence was broken by her words:
Because I killed myself.A strange sound came from outside of my bedroom window.
Something had fallen from the sky.
Something along with the rain.
Something heavier.
